Quebec Colleges, Universities, and Schools

Some people consider Quebec to be the most European of Canada's provinces. Imagine going to school in a place where bilingualism is just an everyday fact of life. However, if Quebec reflects some flavor of Europe, it is the new and modern Europe, where the hottest jazz and the finest classical music coexist easily. The province is home to both the world- famous Montreal Jazz Festival and the renowned Mozart Festival. As a student in Quebec, you'll also be a welcome guest at museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Fine Arts Museum and the Museum of Civilization.

Because of its size (two times the size of Texas), Quebec offers a variety of climates and landscapes. The Saint Lawrence River- called by some the Canadian equivalent of the mighty Mississippi- is the greatest of Quebec's waterways, but there are said to be over one million rivers and lakes in the sprawling province.

With all that territory and varied geography, you can envisage the kinds of wonderful activities that will fill the hours when you are not in class. Quebec offers biking and hiking, horseback riding, and dogsledding, boat tours, rafting, snowmobiling, and fishing.
Quebec, once known as "New France," traces its modern history to the arrival, in 1534, of Jacques Cartier, an explorer sent by King François I to claim the land for France. The province's modern name comes from Kebec, the name given to the area by its early native owners.
Going to school in Quebec will give you a chance to experience both the beauty of the province, and its ever-changing flow of living history.
