Colleges, Universities, and Schools for Wyoming

You can go to school in the state where the Rocky Mountains greet the Great Plains when you choose Wyoming. The state of Wyoming maintains the spirit of the rugged old west; if you ever forget that fact, names such as Medicine Bow and Sierra Madre are there to remind you of the dramatic scenes of American history that played out across the face of the state. Wyoming is on the Continental Divide, the line that defines the eastern and western parts of the United States. All the rivers on the western side of the Divide wend their way westward and eventually to the Pacific Ocean. The eastern side sends its waters wandering through the Missouri River Basin and towards the Atlantic Ocean.
Wyoming has some of the most remarkable geography in the country. The state actually sits on a huge plateau, with mountain ranges rising up from that flat surface. The average elevation of the state is 6,000 feet, and is home to the world famous Yellowstone National Park, as well as Devil's Tower Park and Grand Teton National Park. These amazing places offer opportunities for hiking, camping, rock climbing, and rock collecting.
The state also offers students a wide range of historical sites to explore. There are archeological sites, where artifacts are found - thousands of years old - from the state's native residents. The town of Cody, founded by "Buffalo Bill" Cody, gives a view of what life was like on what was once the country's western frontier.
